President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a law on amendments to a number of regulatory legal acts governing activities in the fields of transport, road traffic, maritime shipping, and aviation, as well as a decree on its implementation. The documents were published on the official state information resource.

According to the law, amendments were made to the Merchant Shipping Code, as well as to the laws "On Road Traffic," "On Transport," "On State Duty," "On the List of Items That May Belong to Individual Participants of Civil Commerce and Be in Circulation Only on the Basis of a Special Permit," "On Automobile Transport," and "On Aviation." The amendments are aimed at improving state regulation of the transport sector and bringing legislation into compliance with modern requirements.

Simultaneously, the head of state signed a decree on the implementation of this law. The document instructs the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan to prepare within three months proposals for bringing regulatory legal acts into compliance with the new legislative norms, to resolve other issues arising from the law, and to inform the President about the work carried out. Corresponding instructions were also given to the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and other state bodies, which must bring their departmental regulatory acts into compliance with the amendments made.

The law and the decree entered into force on the day of their signing.
