Turkey awaits natural disaster - warning systems installed

Turkish authorities are preparing population protection systems due to possible threats of tsunami, volcanic eruption, and new tremors. This was reported by AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Authority).
Specialists have recorded unprecedented seismic activity in the waters between the islands of Santorini and Amorgos. The statistics are impressive: since January 26, more than 6,400 earthquakes have occurred in the Cyclades islands area, with over 4,800 of them having a magnitude higher than 1.0.
As preventive measures, mobile warning systems have been installed in the cities of Izmir, Mugla, and Aydit. Simultaneously, an emergency SMS notification system for the population has been activated.
The situation causes particular concern in light of the recent powerful 7.6 magnitude earthquake near the Cayman Islands, with its epicenter located 210 kilometers from Georgetown, which has a population of 29,000 people, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
