Trump plans to deport hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians
The administration of White House head Donald Trump has developed a plan to deport hundreds of thousands of migrants, including over 200,000 Ukrainians who are in the United States. This was reported by The Washington Post, citing internal documents.
"The Trump administration plans to direct up to €250 million allocated for foreign aid to fund the deportation and return of people from active conflict zones, including 700,000 Ukrainian and Haitian migrants," the publication notes.
Citizens of Sudan, Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya, and other countries may also face deportation. The Washington Post claims that the initiative could bypass the International Organization for Migration (IOM), which coordinates such procedures.
Prior to this, Trump proposed in the 2026 budget draft to stop funding migrant and refugee resettlement programs.
