As Report informs, Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev stated this at an event dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's Independence Day in Baku.

"Speaking about the pace of development of our economic relations, over the past five years the volume of bilateral trade has tripled, and the total portfolio of joint projects has exceeded 5 billion dollars," he said.

According to him, relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in recent years have reached the highest level, acquiring the character of strategic partnership, alliance, and eternal friendship.

"Today, the high-level political dialogue, mutual trust, and sincere friendship established between President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev play a decisive role in the rapid development of our relations and their transition to a qualitatively new stage," Mustafayev emphasized.

He noted that President Ilham Aliyev's state visit to Uzbekistan on August 23-24 became another important milestone in the history of relations between the two countries.
