The Taliban have begun mass closures of women's beauty salons in Kabul

In Afghanistan, the ruling Taliban movement is massively closing women's beauty salons in Kabul.
This was reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Tolo news portal.
According to the information, hundreds of salons have been shut down amid tightening restrictions for women. According to eyewitnesses, representatives of the radical movement are conducting building inspections, discovering salons, after which they destroy them or confiscate equipment.
As a result of these actions, the economic situation of women who worked in the beauty industry has seriously deteriorated. Before the ban, about 60,000 women were employed in the sector, many of whom were the main breadwinners for their families. Analysts link what is happening to the Taliban policy aimed at excluding women from public and economic life.
The portal cites an opinion according to which the conservative policy of the movement does not provide women with any opportunities for work or participation in the country's life. "The state that the Taliban are striving for leaves no room for the presence and activities of women," sources said.
It was previously noted that the Afghan authorities have tightened control over compliance with the law on virtue. The Taliban have banned women from appearing in public with uncovered faces. They also ordered Afghan universities not to allow girls to take entrance exams.
