The first World Humanoid Robot Games opened in the capital of China, which will last until August 17. More than 500 robotic systems, 280 teams from 16 countries are participating in the robo-olympics, including students, schoolchildren and representatives of leading robotics companies, including Unitree and the Beijing Institute of Artificial Intelligence, reports Global Times.

The games program includes 26 disciplines, some of which are focused on sports skills - running, long jump, soccer - while others are aimed at testing practical skills, such as sorting medications or cleaning hotel rooms.

The opening ceremony was organized following the Olympic Games model: teams marched in a parade with the event flag, and a symbolic flame was lit in light cubes. Participants also demonstrated creative abilities, including playing musical instruments, dancing, martial arts, and a fashion show featuring clothing inspired by Chinese culture and technology.

Despite the high level of preparation, there were some technical failures: one robot fell during a soccer match, and another model had to be carried by hand during the fashion show.

The organizers position the event as an international platform for exchanging experience in robotics and promoting technology among young people.
