Shareholders of one of Russia's largest ice cream producers - the company "Russkiy Kholod" - have decided to liquidate the business.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by "Kommersant."

The closure will affect all enterprises of the holding. According to journalists, the decision to liquidate was made by the owners of the group's trading and production assets - JSC "TD 'Russkiy Kholod'", LLC "Altaikholod", and LLC "Laguna Koil". The liquidation commission is expected to carry out all necessary procedures within 18 months.

"Kommersant" clarifies that the reason behind this is a colossal debt burden: the combined liabilities of the holding's four legal entities exceeded 12.5 billion rubles (almost 290 million manats), which led to the suspension of deliveries from May 1 and the launch of an internal audit. Against this backdrop, the authorities of the Altai Krai have already received notifications about the closure of production and the upcoming dismissal of more than 170 employees starting August 8.

Due to signs of insolvency, the investment and financial group Fordewind (LLC MFC "Fordewind") intends to file a bankruptcy petition against "Russkiy Kholod." At the same time, the investment group A1 has declared its readiness to acquire the business along with its debts for 1.5 billion rubles (approximately 35 million manats), the publication notes.

"Russkiy Kholod" is one of the largest ice cream producers in Russia. The company has been operating since 2005 and produces products under the brands "Lakomka," "Nastoyashchiy Plombir," "Monarkh," and USSR.
