Pregnant woman rescued from rubble in Myanmar 60 hours after earthquake
Rescuers joyfully applauded when a woman was pulled alive from the rubble of a hotel in Myanmar on March 31, almost 60 hours after a powerful earthquake struck the country.
Video footage published by the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar shows the moment when the woman was found alive.
According to the embassy, the rescue operation took place at the Great Wall Hotel in Mandalay, which was described as the "most affected city."
Myanmar's Fire Service reported that a pregnant woman was rescued from this location at 00:40.
However, Chinese state media reported that at the time of publication, Chinese rescue teams had saved a total of six people, and only one of them was a pregnant woman who was rescued at another location in Mandalay later that day.
Storyful is working to clarify this discrepancy.
