Netanyahu orders army to prepare for resumption of fighting in Gaza

The political leadership of Israel, headed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has ordered the army to immediately prepare for the resumption of military operations in the Gaza Strip.
This was reported by the Kan radio station.
According to its data, the radical Palestinian movement Hamas is not interested in implementing the peace plan of US President's Special Envoy Steven Witkoff, and the negotiations themselves have reached a deadlock.
The Ynet portal reported on Friday, March 7, that the Chief of General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Eyal Zamir approved a new offensive plan for the Palestinian enclave. As the publication noted, the Jewish state is preparing for an escalation of the conflict while Hamas is regrouping its forces and strengthening its defenses.
Recall that in mid-January, Israel and Hamas, with the mediation of Egypt, Qatar, and the United States, agreed to implement a ceasefire regime, which came into effect on January 19. The first phase of the agreement implementation was completed on March 1, during which 33 hostages were returned to the Jewish state over 42 days. On March 2, Israel blocked humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza and closed all checkpoints due to Hamas's refusal to accept the US President's Special Envoy's plan for continuing negotiations on the ceasefire regime in the enclave.
