The United States and China extended the tariff truce for another three months after talks in Stockholm (Sweden).
This is reported by Sveriges radio.
"The United States and China have agreed to extend tariff concessions. This statement was made after two days of negotiations in Stockholm led by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China He Lifeng," the radio correspondent explained.
Following the talks in Geneva on May 10-11 between representatives of the United States and China, a mutual reduction of duties for 90 days (starting from May 12) by 115% was announced (to 30% on Chinese goods imported to the US and 10% on American goods supplied to China). The term of this deal expires on August 12. The talks in Stockholm took place on July 28 and 29.
