Man became a millionaire due to cashier's error

A 45-year-old resident of Michigan, United States of America, became a millionaire thanks to a lucky coincidence and a cashier's mistake at a store. The man, who wished to remain anonymous, shared the amazing story of his sudden enrichment, reports Oxu.Az with reference to UPI agency.

According to the American, he went to the store to buy a lottery ticket. However, the cashier misunderstood his request and sold him a ticket for a different drawing. "It was pure chance. I asked the cashier for a different ticket, and when she wanted to exchange it, I said I would keep it," recalls the lucky man.

The morning after the purchase, the man's wife decided to check the barcode on the ticket and was surprised to discover that it was a winning one - it brought its owner one million dollars. "I couldn't breathe. It seemed like some kind of joke to me," the winner shared his emotions.

The owner of the coveted ticket also admitted that out of anxiety, he put it in a jar and buried it in his own backyard, fearing that something might happen to it or it might get lost. Now the millionaire plans to spend the winnings on paying off his mortgage, paying bills, and accumulating savings for a comfortable retirement.
