In China, the sale of a batch of counterfeit Labubu worth $1.7 million was stopped
Shanghai police stopped the sale of a batch of counterfeit Labubu toys worth 12 million yuan ($1.7 million). This was reported by the local publication Yicai.
The police seized a batch of 5 thousand units of counterfeit products. The fakes imitated rare models of popular toys.
It is noted that the manufacturers of the counterfeits did not receive consent from Pop Mart, the company officially selling the products.
Previously, American commentator Mark Magnier, in an article for South China Morning Post, stated that the Labubu toy from Chinese company Pop Mart has become a conduit for China's soft power in the West.
