Gas prices in Europe crashed after Trump plan announcement
Gas prices in Europe fell to a minimum since last May. That's how the market reacted to the statement of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who agreed to work on US President Donald Trump's plan to settle the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
As reported by BAKU.WS, Bloomberg informed about this.
According to the ICE Futures exchange, the cost of the December futures at the TTF hub in the Netherlands (a virtual natural gas trading platform) fell to 30.2 euros (-3.1%) per 1 MWh - this is 365.9 dollars per 1,000 cubic meters at the current exchange rate on the Forex market.
The publication notes that Russia provides about 10% of gas supplies to Europe. A peace agreement on Ukraine could contribute to the growth of Russian energy exports and subsequent price reductions.
The day before, the Axios portal published Trump's plan for the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, which consists of 28 points.
