Citizens of Iran have been banned from entering the United Arab Emirates, as well as transiting through the country's airports.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, the corresponding notification to passengers was distributed by Emirates airline.

It is noted that the information is displayed when checking entry conditions on the carrier's website: when Iranian citizenship is indicated, the system automatically points to the current restrictions.

At the same time, it is emphasized that the ban does not apply to holders of the so-called "golden visa" of the UAE — a long-term residence permit for a period of 5 to 10 years, granted to investors and entrepreneurs.

The official authorities of the United Arab Emirates have not yet commented on this information.
