Erdogan and Pezeshkian discussed the ceasefire between the US and Iran
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian.
As reported by Turkish media, during the talks the parties discussed issues of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, as well as the security situation in the region.
Erdoğan noted that Turkey, together with interested parties, had been making intensive efforts to achieve a ceasefire. He emphasized the need to make the most of the Iran-US negotiations, which will begin in the coming days, to achieve lasting peace and stability.
"Ankara is ready to provide all possible assistance together with friendly countries to advance the negotiations," the Turkish leader stated.
Erdoğan also expressed condolences over the losses suffered by the Iranian people, noting that Turkey's goal is to establish constructive dialogue in the region.
