Elon Musk made an unexpected and concerning statement for the USA at the White House

Billionaire Elon Musk, appointed by President Donald Trump to lead efforts to reduce government spending, stated that the US faces bankruptcy if measures to reduce budget expenditures are not taken, reports Voice of America.

Speaking in the White House Oval Office, Musk emphasized that high deficit levels and growing interest payments on government debt pose a serious threat to the country's financial stability. In the past fiscal year, the US budget deficit exceeded $1.8 trillion.

As part of the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk's team is conducting audits of federal agencies, seeking to freeze funding for several programs and reduce personnel.

"Reducing spending is not just an option for Washington, it's an urgent necessity," Musk told reporters.

However, Trump's policy of reducing government spending faces serious resistance. Federal courts are reviewing the legality of the administration's measures, and funding cuts to some agencies have already sparked disputes and legal proceedings.
