Cristiano Ronaldo faces skin cancer risk
Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo may face an increased risk of developing skin cancer due to years of ultraviolet exposure. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Mash na sporte" (Mash on Sports).
According to the source, for approximately 20 years the athlete has regularly sunbathed and used tanning beds. Oncologist Alina Lukina notes that tanning beds are classified as first-degree carcinogens. If a person begins using them regularly at a young age, the likelihood of developing melanoma can increase by 59–75%, and each additional session raises the risk by approximately 1.8%.
Sunburns are also of particular significance. According to the specialist, if a person has sustained more than five such burns from the sun or artificial ultraviolet light, the likelihood of developing skin cancer can double.
At the same time, the data cited refer specifically to risk factors and do not mean that Ronaldo has been diagnosed with cancer.
