Masoud Pezeshkian spoke about Iran's economic difficulties

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed the impact of the two recent wars on the country's economic situation.

According to the head of state, the reduction in oil revenues, difficulties with imports, and damage inflicted on a number of manufacturing enterprises have exacerbated economic problems and increased pressure on the government.

M. Pezeshkian emphasized that under current conditions, rising prices are linked, in particular, to increased import costs.

"Our revenues have also decreased. We used to sell oil, now we cannot sell it," he stated.

The president noted that increased expenditures, reduced oil sales volumes, and damage to industrial enterprises have seriously affected state revenues. At the same time, imported goods are no longer delivered to the country directly as they were before, which also contributes to price increases.

"They struck many factories, destroyed them," M. Pezeshkian said, speaking about the consequences of the war.

"We cannot collect taxes from factories and, on top of that, we have to give them money so they can stay afloat," the Iranian president added.
