Yuriy Husev thanked President Ilham Aliyev for solidarity and support of Ukraine
Ukraine's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Yurii Husev thanked President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani people for their solidarity and support of Ukraine.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the diplomat wrote about this on social media following a meeting during which he presented the head of our state with an honorary citizenship certificate of the city of Irpin.
"We thank you, Mr. President, and all of Azerbaijan for the solidarity and concrete steps toward the reconstruction and support of Ukraine," the diplomat noted.
Husev emphasized that the decision to confer the title of "Honorary Citizen of the City of Irpin" upon Ilham Aliyev was adopted by the Irpin City Council on April 30, 2026. It became a recognition of the personal contribution of the President of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people in supporting the Irpin community from the first days of the Russian-Ukrainian war, as well as after the de-occupation of the city.
"Azerbaijan has become one of Irpin's key partners in reconstruction. With Azerbaijan's support, the Irpin Humanitarian Lyceum 'Linguist' and the consultative and diagnostic polyclinic have already been restored," Husev noted.
According to the ambassador, ahead lies the implementation of new large-scale projects, including the construction of housing, the restoration of a sports school, the Central House of Culture, and the creation of a modern art center.
Husev emphasized that the decision to confer honorary citizenship of the hero city of Irpin upon President Ilham Aliyev is also a symbol of the deep friendship between the Ukrainian and Azerbaijani peoples.
