China has installed the most powerful wind power plant with a height of 60 floors

Chinese state-owned company Dongfang Electric announced the installation of a prototype 26-megawatt offshore wind turbine, which has become the most powerful in the world. It surpassed the previous record holder - Siemens Gamesa's 21.5-megawatt turbine installed in Denmark. This was reported by Electrek.
The turbine prototype, which is the largest in the world in terms of power and size, was installed at a testing and certification facility. The blade wheel diameter of the new giant exceeds 310 meters, and the hub height is 185 meters (approximately 60 floors, - "Gazeta.Ru"). Earlier this month, Dongfang delivered the turbine's nacelle - the heaviest in the world - along with three blades.
This offshore wind turbine is designed to operate in areas with wind speeds of 8 meters per second and above. At an average wind speed of 10 meters per second, just one such unit can generate 100 GWh of electricity per year, which is enough to power 55,000 homes. This will reduce standard coal consumption by 30,000 tons and lower CO2 emissions by 80,000 tons. According to Dongfang, the turbine can withstand winds up to 17 on the extended Beaufort scale (200 km/h).
In May, Dongfang reported the completion of static tests of the turbine blades. The installation is currently undergoing fatigue testing (a process of evaluating a material's ability to withstand repeated cycles of loading or stress, - "Gazeta.Ru"), which may take up to a year before it is fully certified.
