President Ilham Aliyev congratulated the Jewish community of Azerbaijan
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to the Jewish community of Azerbaijan.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the message states:
"Dear compatriots!
I cordially congratulate you on the significant holiday of the Jewish people — Rosh Hashanah, and extend my most sincere wishes.
Azerbaijan has historically been a space where different civilizations converge, where exemplary social relations based on mutual respect and trust, friendship and brotherhood have been formed between representatives of various peoples and faiths.
In modern Azerbaijan, democratic and legal conditions are ensured for the fundamental rights and freedoms of everyone, regardless of language, religion, and ethnic affiliation. In the atmosphere of religious and ethnic tolerance that has prevailed in our society for centuries, the Jewish community, while preserving its national and spiritual values, language and culture, actively participates in the socio-cultural life of our country, which is experiencing a period of great development and progress, and makes its valuable contribution to strengthening civic solidarity.
Once again, I extend holiday greetings to each of you on the occasion of Rosh Hashanah, which symbolizes renewal, spiritual purity, kindness and solidarity, and wish happiness to your families and prosperity to your homes.
Happy holiday!"
