The Frightening Truth About Dentists in Azerbaijan - What Should Citizens Be Wary Of?

Recently, after problems in plastic surgery and cosmetology, a new issue has come to the forefront. It was discovered that some dental technicians are working as dentists without any licenses or diplomas.

Both in Baku and in the regions, you can find "clinics" providing dental services at every step. However, it's unknown where these people in white coats studied, whether they completed practical training, what specialization they received, and if they have the right to perform all dental procedures.

The Baku TV film crew went to one of the private dental offices to check how real this problem is. Although it was reported that the center had ceased operations, local residents claim it was working until recently.

Being a dentist doesn't mean performing all dental procedures. For this, a doctor must have a license in specific areas of dental treatment: therapeutic, orthopedic, orthodontic, surgical dentistry, and dental technology, therefore relevant work can only be performed based on a state certificate and medical practice license. For example, individuals without a surgical dentistry license cannot perform operations such as tooth extraction and installation of corresponding implants in the oral cavity.
