In Baku, a bus stop became an obstacle for pedestrians
Another episode of Baku TV's "Necə olmalıdır?" ("How Should It Be?") segment has been aired.
It addressed the problems concerning drivers and pedestrians on Abbas Mirza Sharifzade Street in Baku.
One of the bus stops in this area is installed in such a way that pedestrians have to step onto the roadway to continue walking on the sidewalk.
The bus shelter, which occupies the entire width of the sidewalk, poses a threat to pedestrians' lives. Some of them have to make an effort not to step onto the traffic lane. But this is not a solution to the situation.
Another problem is buses picking up and dropping off passengers when the right lane has a green light. This causes justified discontent among drivers who want to turn right.
The size of the bus stop should be modified to match the sidewalk and moved higher up.
More details in the report.
