President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation headed by the Chairman of the National Assembly of Pakistan

On July 7, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation headed by the Chairman of the National Assembly of Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the head of state emphasized that political ties between our countries are at an excellent level, noting that bilateral relations are based on brotherhood, mutual support and solidarity.

President Ilham Aliyev with satisfaction recalled the participation of Pakistan's Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in the 17th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization in Khankendi a few days ago and his meeting with him, reported that at this meeting, comprehensive discussions on issues included in the bilateral agenda took place again. The head of state said that this is not the first visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to the territories liberated from occupation. In this regard, President Ilham Aliyev noted Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif's visit to Lachin in May of this year and his participation in an event dedicated to Azerbaijan's Independence Day.

Touching upon the successful interaction between Azerbaijan and Pakistan in political, economic and investment spheres, the head of state noted the role of inter-parliamentary cooperation in expanding ties, and with satisfaction emphasized the mutual support of parliamentary delegations of the two countries in international inter-parliamentary institutions.

The President of Azerbaijan expressed hope that the visit of the delegation from brotherly Pakistan to our country would be fruitful.

Thanking for the reception, the Chairman of the National Assembly of Pakistan emphasized that it is an honor for them to visit Azerbaijan and meet with the head of our state. Noting that the delegation he leads includes members of parliament from both ruling and opposition parties, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that this is an indicator of a unified and solidary position regarding Azerbaijan in the National Assembly of Pakistan.

In turn, touching upon the importance of inter-parliamentary ties between the two states, the Chairman of the National Assembly of Pakistan emphasized that our countries have always demonstrated solidarity both in difficult and good days.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on the successful holding of the 17th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization and touched upon the great political significance of organizing this event specifically in the city of Khankendi. The guest especially noted the large-scale construction and restoration works being carried out at a high level in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur.

During the meeting, it was noted that Sardar Ayaz Sadiq's visit to our country creates a good opportunity for discussions related to deepening ties. Issues of expanding cooperation between the legislative bodies of Azerbaijan and Pakistan were also discussed.

During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on the prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan in trade-economic, energy, industrial, investment, transport, tourism and other spheres.
