A decision has been made in the case of the sergeant sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of 3 soldiers

A cassation appeal has been filed against the verdict regarding junior sergeant Elkhan Evezli, accused of murdering three servicemen in the separate border division "Gubadly" of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan.
As APA reports, at the session of the Supreme Court presided over by Judge Nazim Movsumov, a decision was announced according to which the appeal was not satisfied.
Recall that the Fizuli Military Court sentenced Elkhan Evezli to life imprisonment. The Shirvan Court of Appeal left the verdict unchanged.
According to information disseminated by the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan, on January 2, 2022, at around 18:00, extended active military service junior sergeant E. Evezli, for an unknown reason, opened fire from his service weapon at border post servicemen senior lieutenant Yusif Ismayilov, junior warrant officers Amil Jalilzade and Rafail Ibrahimov, after which he dropped his weapon and fled the scene.
As a result of operational search measures, at around 00:30 on January 3, 2022, the suspect was found and detained in the territory of Malkhalaf village in Lachin district.
A criminal case was initiated on this fact, which was taken under special control by the leadership of the General Prosecutor's Office, and the investigation was entrusted to the Investigation Department of the Military Prosecutor's Office. The investigation was conducted by the Military Prosecutor's Office, after which the case was sent to the Fizuli Military Court for consideration.
