Trump Has Started a Countdown for Tehran: What Will Iran's Response Be?
The ten-day deadline set by US President Donald Trump for Iran has expired. As Washington states, Tehran must either agree to a deal or ensure the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated in a Baku TV segment.
The key question, however, is not what will happen after the deadline expires, but whether Trump views this ultimatum as an instrument of diplomatic pressure or as a transition to an actual military phase.
The fact is that the conditions put forward by Washington remain extremely tough. They include a complete renunciation of nuclear weapons, cessation of uranium enrichment, transfer of enriched uranium stockpiles to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), closure of facilities in Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow, as well as the use of missiles exclusively for defensive purposes.
Tehran, for its part, is putting forward far more complex conditions for Washington.
