Azerbaijani wrestler became European champion

Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Yusif Abdullayev won the gold medal at the U15 European Championship held in Samokov, Bulgaria.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the athlete, competing in the up to 38 kg weight category, confidently defeated Georgia's Rezi Yobidze 10:0 in the decisive bout.

On his way to the final, Y. Abdullayev left no chances for Ukrainian Ivan Vasylkov (10:0), Armenian Norayr Gevorkyan (11:0), and Belgian Mohammed Bisultanov (13:1).

In addition, two more Azerbaijani wrestlers reached the second step of the podium: Elman Ismayilov (41 kg) lost in the final to Bulgarian Simeon Velikov, and Adam Guliyev (52 kg) lost to Russian Badruddin Magomedov.

Bronze medals at the championship were won by Muhammad Karimov (44 kg), who defeated Belarusian Alexander Khamov (16:6), and Yusif Huseynov (62 kg), who defeated Russian Zaur Najmudinov (5:0).
