State Committee: Creation of new "green corridors" is planned in cities
New "green corridors" are planned to be created in cities of Azerbaijan.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by Shahnaz Badalova, Deputy Head of the Urban Development and Territorial Planning Department of the State Committee for Urban Development and Architecture, within the framework of WUF13 in Baku.
She noted that urban development requires an interdisciplinary approach, where urbanists, architects, psychologists, transport specialists, and public health experts should work together when planning future cities.
According to her, even with high-quality master plans, their effectiveness depends on taking into account the daily behavior of residents and the accessibility of urban infrastructure, including safe pedestrian zones and green corridors.
Badalova cited the example of Ganja, where the new master plan provides for the development of green corridors to improve accessibility of urban parks and public spaces.
