Erdogan expressed condolences to Trump
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation with his American counterpart Donald Trump. The leaders discussed bilateral Turkish-American relations, as well as regional and global issues.
This was stated in a message from the Communications Directorate of the Turkish Presidential Administration.
Erdogan noted that Turkey considers the extension of the ceasefire in the regional conflict a positive development and will continue to support constructive initiatives. The Turkish leader expressed confidence in the possibility of resolving disagreements between the parties based on a reasonable approach.
The head of the Turkish state emphasized that establishing stability in Syria would be an important achievement for the entire region. At the same time, he stressed that Turkey will continue its unwavering support for Syria. He also pointed to the need to prevent the situation in Lebanon from deteriorating further.
The President of Turkey expressed condolences to his counterpart in connection with the attack on a mosque in the American city of San Diego that took place the day before. Erdogan emphasized that Ankara firmly opposes any hate crimes, regardless of which religious community they are directed against.
