New "image" of Mikhalkov, or why "Besogon" joined the anti-Azerbaijani campaign

In the new episode of the program "Besogon TV," aired on August 1, famous Russian director Nikita Mikhalkov openly made propagandistic attacks against Azerbaijan.
Despite previously collaborating with Azerbaijani writer and screenwriter Rustam Ibragimbekov on a number of projects, in recent years N. Mikhalkov has become one of the key figures serving the Kremlin's ideological agenda.
In the latest episode of his program, he portrayed Azerbaijan as an "ungrateful" post-Soviet republic and voiced a number of false and distorted claims about the country.
In particular, the segment mentioned the incident with an AZAL civilian aircraft shot down over Russian territory, and cases of violence against Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg - while emphasizing that official Moscow did not take any responsibility. Additionally, insulting statements were made against the President of Azerbaijan, and information about the Shusha Media Forum was taken out of context.
Despite such attacks, against the backdrop of the openly pro-Armenian position of part of the Russian media space, the Azerbaijani side demonstrates restraint. Regarding the aircraft incident, Azerbaijan completed all diplomatic and legal procedures, while in Russia the responsible individuals not only went unpunished but were even rewarded, and attempts were made to cover up the incident itself.
Mikhalkov's speech reflects the general line of the Kremlin's information policy and indicates a deliberate cultivation of Azerbaijanophobia, which only increases tension in relations between the two countries.
