Euronews: Azerbaijan's relations with Central Asian countries reach the level of strategic partnership
The Euronews TV channel prepared a report on the Seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States held in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) the day before.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the report pays special attention to the decision to include Azerbaijan in this format.
"The consultative meeting concluded with a significant outcome: the leaders unanimously approved Azerbaijan's accession as a full participant in the format," the report states.
The TV channel emphasized that the leaders of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan called this decision historic. The heads of state noted that it officially includes the South Caucasus within the framework of Central Asian cooperation, forming the basis for a broader space of mutual connections from the Caspian Sea to global markets.
"Azerbaijan's participation will give the format a new impetus, expanding trade, investments, cultural ties, and coordinated development between two strategically important regions," the report says.
Euronews emphasizes that the Tashkent meeting paid special attention to strengthening the institutional foundations of regional cooperation. Proposals were made to transform the current consultative mechanism into a long-term strategic platform called the "Central Asian Community" with the creation of a rotating secretariat, a council of elders, and expanding the powers of national coordinators.
