A loud scandal is erupting in Azerbaijan over the legacy of a national dance legend. Shocking allegations have emerged about the theft of valuable belongings and state awards from the apartment of the late People's Artist Roza Jalilova.

As BAKU.WS reports citing Musavat.com, the granddaughter of the celebrated arts figure, Lala Aslanova, came forward with a sensational statement, revealing dark details of events that occurred immediately after her grandmother's death.

According to the heir, the day of death of the outstanding artist, who had represented Azerbaijani culture on stages around the world for decades, was marred by cynical lawlessness. Lala Aslanova claims that her grandmother's niece Yegana Aslanova, together with her daughter Leyla Seidalizade, exploited the tragic situation. Living nearby, they were the first to arrive at the apartment while the family was in shock from the loss, and, according to the granddaughter's account, appropriated valuable belongings and bank cards.

The particular cynicism of the situation, as Lala Aslanova notes, lies in the fact that the relatives attempted to misinform official services. When police officers and the ambulance crew inquired about the existence of direct heirs (the deceased's son), Yegana Aslanova allegedly stated that Roza Jalilova had no son, accompanying this with offensive remarks directed at Lala's father.

"Events unfolded rapidly. My grandmother's body was immediately taken to the Tezepir mosque. Having left the deceased there, these people returned to the empty apartment. They removed everything that constituted not only material but also historical value: certificates of honor, high state awards — the 'Sharaf' and 'Shohrat' orders, documents from the Ministry of Culture, rare awards from the Soviet period, as well as bank cards and cash," Lala Aslanova recounted with bitterness.

According to her, the family has already contacted law enforcement agencies. The police conducted an inspection of the scene, and a corresponding report was drawn up. However, the artist's granddaughter expresses concern that, despite the materials being transferred to the Sabail district prosecutor's office and police department, no effective measures have been taken so far.

The case is acquiring new legal complications. Lala Aslanova claims that the opponents are using forged documents to mislead state bodies. According to her, five agencies have already been deceived with invalid papers in order to obtain certain preferences. The granddaughter refers to an official response from the Ministry of Justice confirming the illegality of documents obtained by Yegana Aslanova. Moreover, it is alleged that even the Sabail District Court issued a ruling based on dubious papers.

"Taking advantage of my grandmother's death, a barrage of slander was unleashed upon my father. Despite the fact that we provided the investigation with video recordings, audio files, and witness testimonies, the guilty parties remain unpunished. We demand an objective investigation and justice for the sake of Roza Jalilova's memory," Lala Aslanova emphasized.

For her part, Yegana Aslanova rejects the status of niece, claiming that she is the biological daughter of the People's Artist. She has so far refrained from making detailed comments regarding the accusations.

It should be noted that this conflict has deep roots. While still alive, Roza Jalilova was forced to contact the police with a complaint against Yegana Aslanova. The artist filed a report with the 9th police station of the Sabail district, claiming that the latter had taken and refused to return her jewelry, including four pairs of diamond earrings and other expensive accessories.
