SOCAR launches "green bonds" on the Baku Stock Exchange

On March 7, 2025, an event dedicated to the start of trading SOCAR's "green bonds" on the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) was held at SOCAR Tower.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
The event was attended by the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chairman of SOCAR's Supervisory Board Mikayil Jabbarov, SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf, as well as heads of BSE, National Depository Center, banks, insurance and investment companies, and representatives of academic circles.
The event began with the performance of the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a moment of silence to honor the memory of martyrs who gave their lives for the territorial integrity of our country.
Then a video about SOCAR bonds was shown.
In their speeches, event participants spoke about Azerbaijan's strategic goals and steps taken by our country against the background of growing global demand for renewable energy and increased attention to environmental issues.
Speaking about SOCAR's strategic goals, information was presented about current and planned projects in renewable energy. Special attention was paid to the innovations and efficiency that "green bonds" bring to the domestic capital market in accordance with the company's sustainability priorities.
The positive dynamics formed by SOCAR bonds, which began issuance in 2016, was also noted. The long-term trust and high interest of investors, as well as the economic value created by these bonds in recent years, were emphasized. The launch of SOCAR's "green bonds" has strategic importance in terms of expanding environmentally sustainable investment instruments and is seen as a new stage in the company's development.
The symbolic opening of the event marked the start of secondary market operations with SOCAR bonds on the BSE.
As part of the ceremony, a symbolic agreement was also signed, after which participants took a commemorative photo.
The issuance of SOCAR's "green bonds" not only strengthens the company's strategic position in the capital market but also confirms its commitment to environmental values and principles of sustainable development.
