Mikail Jabbarov: "Sustainability has its price"

"Everyone seeks stability, and this is completely natural, but stability also has its price."

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, speaking at the II Azerbaijan International Investment Forum in Baku.

"Diversification of supply chains, restriction of access to technologies — all of this not only increases production costs but also slows down cross-border economic integration. We are convinced that governments are not able to eliminate every external risk, but they are capable of making their policies more predictable and demonstrating that the agreements reached will be strictly upheld.

That is why we have chosen reliability and are convinced that trust is the main outcome."

The minister emphasized that the "Contract of the Century" signed in 1994 with a consortium of leading international energy companies laid the foundation for a powerful cooperation model between Azerbaijan and the world's largest energy corporations. Throughout all these years, together with partners, it has been possible to contribute not only to the socio-economic development of the country but also to transforming the region into a reliable energy supplier.
