Mikail Jabbarov: Thanks to AI, production has increased at the urea plant

The "SOCAR Carbamide" plant of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan is regarded as a successful example of digital transformation thanks to advanced technologies and the professionalism of its specialists.

This was stated by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov in his account on the social network "X".

According to the minister, the digital transformation at the "SOCAR Carbamide" plant, launched in 2023 as part of SOCAR's strategic partnership with the American company McKinsey and lasting two and a half years, demonstrates the enormous potential that artificial intelligence, digital platforms, and innovative technological solutions create in modernizing operations.

He reported that thanks to the EnergyAI platform, predictive maintenance, and digital solutions tailored to the enterprise's needs, as well as the strengthening of human capital through the SOCAR Digital Academy, production volumes have increased.

"Energy efficiency and operational reliability have been enhanced. In addition, support has been provided for the professional development of local specialists. The publication of information about this transformation on the official website of McKinsey once again confirms its global significance," the minister wrote.

In Jabbarov's opinion, this initiative builds upon SOCAR's significant achievements in the field of digital transformation.

"The company's three-time designation as a Digital Lighthouse by the World Economic Forum is an important indicator, placing it among the select global leaders in digital innovation in industry. The experience gained at 'SOCAR Carbamide' represents a successful model that can be applied on a broader scale for the digital transformation of other areas of SOCAR's operations, as well as Azerbaijan's industrial sector," he added.
