Mikail Jabbarov: The oil industry has played an important role in the development of Azerbaijan

The oil industry has played an important role in the history of Azerbaijan's economic development.

As reported by BAKU.WS, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov wrote about this on the social network X.

"The professionalism and dedication of our oil workers are of particular importance in preserving this rich heritage and expanding our country's energy capabilities," he emphasized.

M. Jabbarov congratulated Azerbaijan's oil workers on their professional holiday:

"I congratulate all our oil workers on their professional holiday, wishing them good health and new successes."

It should be recalled that 32 years ago — on September 20, 1994, the "Contract of the Century" was signed, which determined the future of Azerbaijan and turned the country into one of the leading players on the world energy map. Based on the decree of national leader Heydar Aliyev dated August 16, 2001, the date of the contract's signing — September 20 — is celebrated in Azerbaijan as Oil Workers' Day.
