Zelensky signed the law ratifying the free trade agreement with Turkey

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed the law ratifying the Free Trade Agreement with Turkey.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Ukrainian media, the relevant information has been published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

It is noted that the agreement is aimed at developing bilateral economic cooperation, expanding markets for Ukrainian producers, creating new business opportunities, as well as developing and modernizing local production.

The Free Trade Agreement was signed on February 3, 2022, in Kyiv by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Minister of Trade of Turkey Mehmet Muş following 12 rounds of negotiations held between 2011 and 2022.

The Parliament of Turkey ratified the document in early August 2024, and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified it on July 14, 2026.

The agreement will enter into force after the completion of domestic procedures and the exchange of ratification instruments between the two countries.
