Woman was fired for coming to work too early
In Spain, an unusual labor case was considered, in which the court confirmed the legality of dismissing a courier service employee for systematically appearing at work significantly earlier than the start of her shift.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the materials of the Alicante court, the woman came to the workplace between 6:45 and 7:00, although according to the employment contract she was supposed to start work only at 7:30.
The employer explained that during these early hours, the employee had no job duties, so her presence not only did not bring any benefit but also violated the established internal regulations. Despite a written warning issued in 2023, the woman continued to come earlier than the appointed time, which became the basis for dismissal for a "serious misconduct."
The employee tried to challenge the decision in the public court of Alicante, but the judge fully supported the company. The decision emphasized that her behavior undermined the key principles of labor relations - trust and loyalty.
The court concluded that ignoring official warnings gave the employer full right to terminate the contract without paying any compensation.
