Donald Trump: A military operation in Iran could extend beyond 4-5 weeks

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to "Kommersant," the corresponding statement was made by American President Donald Trump during a speech at the White House.

"From the very beginning, we projected 4-5 weeks. However, we have the potential that allows us to continue much longer than that (period)," he said.

At the same time, the US President stated that the operation is ahead of schedule. According to Trump, initially 4 weeks were allocated for the elimination of members of the Iranian military leadership, but in reality it was accomplished in just one hour.

Military operations will end when the US achieves its goals, Trump added. Among those, he named the complete halt of the nuclear and missile programs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Earlier, in an interview with CNN, Trump stated that the United States does not know who is currently leading Iran and who will be chosen as the leader of the Islamic Republic.
