Gas in Europe has risen in price to maximum levels
A sharp surge in gas prices has occurred in Europe. This was reported by TASS, citing data from London's ICE exchange.
It turned out that after Qatar halted production of liquefied natural gas (LNG), the April futures for this energy resource rose to $515 per cubic meter. This became the highest level since January.
It was previously reported that QatarEnergy had halted LNG production and related products at its facilities following a missile attack on the plant in Ras Laffan.
After the start of the U.S. and Israeli operation against Iran, the price of natural gas on the index of Europe's largest hub, TTF in the Netherlands, surged sharply upward. At the opening of trading, futures rose in price by nearly 28 percent. The recorded surge turned out to be the strongest since August 2023.
