Trump: Extending the ceasefire with Iran may not be necessary
Negotiations between the US and Iran are going well, and an extension of the ceasefire may not be necessary.
As reported by Sky News, US leader Donald Trump made this statement to journalists at the White House.
"We're doing very well, I can tell you. It may happen (the signing of a peace agreement - ed.) sooner. I'm not sure it needs to be extended. However, if I had to, I would do it," Trump commented on the possibility of extending the ceasefire with Iran.
At the same time, Trump announced the continuation of the US Navy blockade of Iranian ports: "No ship will get past our navy. A blockade is possibly stronger than bombings, if you want to know the truth."
According to the American leader, Iran has agreed to never develop nuclear weapons. Trump also threatened to resume military operations if Tehran refuses to conclude a peace deal before the temporary truce expires.
He also did not rule out that the next round of negotiations between the US and Iran could begin this weekend.
