In Azerbaijan, the process of implementing the recent amendments adopted to the law on military duty and military service has begun.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, the corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Ali Asadov.

According to the text of the document, the Ministry of Justice, together with the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the State Security Service (SSS), the State Service for Mobilization, and other relevant bodies, must align the existing regulatory and legal framework with the adopted law. Initiatives on this matter must be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers within 5 months.

In order to ensure the timely fulfillment of the assigned tasks, the following action plan has been approved:

- within 4 months, the main executive authorities are to take the required steps within their competence and, after updating the legal acts, notify the Ministry of Justice accordingly;

- within 6 months, the Ministry of Justice is to finalize bringing all regulatory documentation into compliance with the new rules and submit a final report to the government.

Oversight of the execution of the order has been assigned to the Law and Legislation Department of the Cabinet of Ministers' Office. The document entered into force on the day of its signing.
