The first female sniper of Azerbaijan has died

Azerbaijan's first female sniper Novrasta Yusifova has passed away.

This became known from publications on social media.

Novrasta Yusifova, known by the nickname "Khalagizi," was from the Khizi district.

During the first Karabakh war, she voluntarily went to the front. Between 1992 and 1994, Yusifova participated in combat operations for Karabakh and served as a sniper at the most intense sections of the front, distinguishing herself with her heroism.

Novrasta Yusifova's achievements include the destruction of an enemy cargo truck with approximately 20 soldiers inside, a bunker, disabling a tank, and a number of other accomplishments. Twenty years later, she learned that during the war in Karabakh, the opposing side knew of her existence and had even placed a bounty on her head.
