The brother-colonel of Ramiz Mehtiyev's son-in-law has passed away

A heavy loss has befallen former deputy Ilham Aliyev — the son-in-law of the former head of the Presidential Administration and ex-president of ANAS Ramiz Mehdiyev, who is currently under house arrest.

As reported by Qafqazinfo, his brother Fikret Aliyev, who held responsible leadership positions in various state structures for many years, has passed away.

Fikret Aliyev concluded his career at the dissolved Ministry of National Security with the rank of colonel. In different years, he also served as vice-rector of the International University and headed the Central Military Medical Commission under the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription.

One month after Ramiz Mehdiyev was elected president of the Academy of Sciences, Fikret Aliyev was appointed deputy business manager of ANAS.
