The European Union expressed its gratitude to Azerbaijan for providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine, emphasizing its particular significance amid the ongoing attacks on the country's energy infrastructure and preparations for winter.

This was stated to Report by a representative of the European External Action Service (EEAS).

"Azerbaijan is a reliable energy partner of the EU and contributes to providing the necessary support to Ukraine. As EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas noted during her visit to Azerbaijan, the European Union is grateful to Azerbaijan for its humanitarian aid to Ukraine," he emphasized.

According to the representative, alongside the support of the European Union and its member states, the assistance of other international partners, including Azerbaijan, plays an important role. It helps meet Ukraine's urgent needs and strengthen its resilience.

He also noted that the ongoing Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities, critical infrastructure, and civilians are aimed at intimidating the population, undermining the economy, and weakening the country's resilience, especially ahead of winter.

It should be recalled that on October 7, Azerbaijan sent another batch of electrical equipment to Ukraine as humanitarian aid. The total value of the shipment amounted to 2.5 million manats. It included transformers, 186 km of electrical cables, wires, and other equipment necessary for the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
