Trump's unexpected reaction to the plane crash: "Do you want me to go swimming?"
US President Donald Trump surprised the public with his unusual reaction to a question about visiting the site of tragedy where a military helicopter collided with a passenger plane near Washington.
During a press conference at the Office, the president reacted in an unexpected way: "Where's the crash site? Did they fall into the water? Do you want me to go swimming? I don't have such plans," Trump stated. The president avoided answering the question about meeting with the relatives of the deceased.
On January 30, near Ronald Reagan Airport, a passenger plane carrying 64 people collided with a military helicopter carrying three servicemen. The aircraft crashed into the Potomac River. According to official data, there were no survivors.
In his statement, Donald Trump placed part of the responsibility on the airport's air traffic control service, noting that the warning came only seconds before the collision. "Such positions should be filled by the smartest and most psychologically stable people," the president emphasized.
