Putin authorized Russian customs officers to shoot down all types of drones
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law granting the country's customs authorities powers to counter unmanned aerial vehicles.
This was reported by "Kommersant."
The document was published on the official legal information portal.
According to the publication, Russian customs authorities have now been granted the right to suppress the operation of drones (jam, damage, and destroy drones - ed.) in the event of an attack or threat of attack on the agency's facilities.
This applies to any automated unmanned systems — aerial, underwater, surface, as well as unmanned vehicles.
The law takes effect 30 days after its official publication.
