Media: Due to US tariffs, a significant portion of logistics will be redirected to Turkey

The new US customs policy will allow Turkey to redirect a significant part of international supply chains to itself.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this opinion was expressed by a source in the financial sector in Ankara in a conversation with TASS.
"We currently see positive prospects for this new US trade policy. The fact is that such measures by the American administration will affect logistics and international supply chains. A significant part of them will be redirected to Turkey. And here, essentially, simple mathematical considerations apply," said the source.
He explained that "countries on which higher US duties are imposed will seek to trade through those states whose exports are subject to a minimum 10 percent rate, as in Turkey, and with which they have free trade agreements."
Commenting on the fact that Russia is not on the US "tariff list," the source recalled that "this is not surprising, since there is generally no trade between Russia and the US now, and Russian companies that can do business with the US are on the sanctions list."
Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, speaking on CNN Türk, noted that "the 10 percent customs duties established for Turkey are in the republic's interest in terms of prospects for entering the American market." "We see that the international economic order is being transformed. The decisions made by US President Donald Trump are very important, and we need to carefully observe the actions of other countries. The increase in duties will force countries selling goods to the US market to aggressively enter other markets, and we should pay close attention to this. So the tariffs announced by Trump are relatively beneficial for Turkey," Yılmaz noted. He also added that "the world is moving toward protectionism, and each country will now pursue its own interests."
