The performer of one of the lead roles in the series "The Clone" has died
In the Brazilian city of São Paulo, renowned actor, director, and playwright Juca de Oliveira has passed away at the age of 91.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to local media, the artist died on the morning of March 21 at the Syrian-Lebanese Hospital, where he had been admitted on March 13. According to sources, the reason for hospitalization was pneumonia that developed against the backdrop of cardiovascular problems.
Oliveira gained worldwide fame for his role as scientist Augusto Albieri in the iconic telenovela O Clone. His character - a professor obsessed with the idea of cloning - became one of the most memorable figures of the project. According to foreign television industry experts, it was this role that brought the actor popularity far beyond Brazil, including in Eastern European countries.
Prior to his participation in "O Clone," the artist already held the status of a recognized star in his homeland. His filmography includes dozens of roles in telenovelas, among them Saramandaia, Avenida Brasil, and Flor del Caribe. In addition to his acting career, he was actively involved in directing and playwriting, staging theatrical productions and touring across Latin American countries.
In an official statement, relatives thanked fans for their support and warm words, noting that the memory of him will forever remain in the hearts of loved ones and viewers.
