USA suspended visa application processing worldwide
The administration of US President Donald Trump has suspended the processing of immigration visa applications as part of the ongoing tightening of immigration policy.
As reported by BAKU.WS, Reuters reports this citing a US State Department representative.
According to the representative, on Tuesday the US launched a global training exercise at all American embassies and consulates around the world. In connection with this, appointments for visa services will be adjusted until the training is completed.
Reuters notes that the Trump administration is conducting a large-scale campaign of deportation and tightening of immigration policy. It includes the revocation of visas and green cards, as well as the rejection of applications for a number of reasons, including political views and participation in pro-Palestinian protests.
The US administration believes that these measures are aimed at strengthening domestic security.
